Sleep for an hour longer

It's time to turn back the clocks one hour on 30 October at 04:00 (Saturday to Sunday night).

In Latvia, summer time runs from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October since there is no agreement at EU level on new arrangements. Therefore, next year, on 26 March 2023, daylight saving time will be changed again and will be in force until 29 October.

Summer time changeovers in Latvia are governed by Cabinet Regulation No 1010 of 26 October 2010. According to the rules, Latvia switches over to daylight saving time on the last Sunday in March at 03:00, and on the last Sunday in October at 04:00.

The changeover to daylight saving time is governed by Directive 2000/84/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 January 2001. All EU member states follow the Directive to determine the start and end of summer time.

Summer time was first introduced in Latvia in 1981. Since 1997, daylight saving time applies from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October.
