Riga, Latvia – June 2025 – Mogotel Hotel Group announces the reopening of Rija Riga City Centre Hotel, located at Dzirnavu iela 2 in central Riga.
The hotel, previously known as Rixwell Terrace Design Hotel, had been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic and has now resumed operations following a light refurbishment. It is the first property in the group’s portfolio to operate fully in self-service mode.

The hotel is housed in a renovated Art Nouveau building in Riga’s embassy district and offers 19 guest rooms across three categories: Economy Double, Comfort Double, and Comfort Twin. An additional 17 rooms in a second building are scheduled to open in August 2025.
The hotel’s central location offers convenient access to key city landmarks, including Old Riga, Xiaomi Arena, Skonto Stadium, and Hanzas Perons.
Guests can complete the entire check-in and check-out process independently. Upon arrival, they check in online, receive a key, and access their room without the need for interaction with on-site staff. The concept is designed for travelers who value autonomy and efficiency during their stay.
The hotel does not offer breakfast service on-site, which contributes to a more competitive nightly room rate. However, for guests who prefer to include breakfast in their stay, Mogotel offers special breakfast packages at attractive rates in seven of its other hotels in Riga — many of which are located within walking distance.
“We are pleased to reopen this hotel in a new format — as Mogotel’s first fully self-service property,” said Elena Stirna, CEO of Mogotel Hotel Group.
“This concept offers guests full control over their stay — from online check-in to receiving their room key — without the need for face-to-face interaction. We are seeing increasing interest in this model from hotel owners and partners, and we believe it will play a key role in the future of urban hospitality.”
