Tallinn: Fly direct this summer to new destinations: Iceland and Albania

Throughout summer, you can fly direct from Tallinn to nearly 50 different airports. New destinations include Reykjavik and Tirana with airBaltic, which has also launched year-round direct flights to Barcelona and a summer-long service to Palma de Mallorca. A number of existing routes will also see an increase in flights.

The IATA AirportIS report shows that Estonia is the starting point for passengers travelling to more than 1000 destinations around the world each year, nearly 50% of whom connect to them via hubs. “It’s not just the new dots that appear on route maps that create value for travellers, but what those dots represent – the flight schedule, the frequency of flights and the connections they open up,” said Eero Pärgmäe, a member of the management board of AS Tallinna Lennujaam. “That’s why we’re so pleased with the increased number of flights to those hubs this summer.Starting in late March, airBaltic will be offering twice-daily flights to Amsterdam, ensuring greater connectivity to the UK, Central and Southern Europe and North America. The two daily flights to Copenhagen operated by SAS will enable good onward connections, too, as will the additional flights being added by a number of other airlines.”

Returning to Tallinn as part of this year’s summer schedule are Eurowings and Transavia France, which launched direct flights to Prague and Paris Orly, respectively, in 2024.

Other regular summer destinations like Billund, Malta, Split, Nice, Burgas, Heraklion and Rhodes are also making a return, while direct flights to Barcelona will be operated by two carriers: airBaltic and Ryanair.

“The choice of destinations for the summer season is varied, offering everything from vibrant city breaks to tranquil beach vacations and getting away from it all in the great outdoors,” Pärgmäe explained. “There’s something for everyone, whether you’re travelling with kids, looking to relax and unwind or chasing new experiences. All flight times and the direct-flight destinations you can choose from can be found on our website.”

It will continue through to the end of daylight saving on 26 October, when the airport switches to its winter schedule. Airlines decide on their routes and flight operations independently. They may launch new connections mid-season and make changes to their routes and schedules throughout the season.
