Wide range of Vilnius Airport flights attracts Lithuanian neighbours

More and more foreign passengers choose Vilnius not only as a great holiday destination but also as a first trip stop. Vilnius is increasingly popular among Lithuanian neighbours. Having noticed growing numbers of Latvian passengers a special shuttle was launched connecting the main Lithuanian air gateway and Daugavpils.

A Dauntrans-operated route between the second largest Latvian city and Vilnius Airport has two new and comfortable 20-seat minibuses. The route includes stops at Zarasai, Visaginas, Dūkštas, Ignalina and Vilnius Bus Station. The entire journey lasts 3.5 hours.

"This route has expanded the geography of connections with Vilnius Airport. Up till now, Vilnius Airport was directly and conveniently connected with Palanga, Klaipėda and Kaunas. We are also looking for new routes. We hope soon to have a bus operating between Vilnius Airport and Belarus capital Minks," says Indrė Baltrušaitienė, Head of Communications and Marketing at Lithuanian Airports.

A minibus from Daugavpils to Vilnius Airport leaves daily at 7am, and to Latvia at 1pm.

A ticket costs EUR 15.

Vilnius Airport offers Latvian passengers not only 47 routes operated by 17 airlines but also a unique space – FilmBox LT, the only airport movie theatre in Baltic and Nordic countries, where they can wait for their flight.
