Direct Flights from Vilnius to Saint Petersburg to be resumed

Polet Airlines is to launch direct flights to Vilnius from Saint Petersburg on 4 November this year. The second largest city of Russia will become 44th airport and 36th city accessible from Vilnius by regular flights. Flights will be operated twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays by aircraft SAAB 2000 with 50 passenger seats.

The plane will take off from Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport at 9.50 and land in Vilnius at 10.20. The aircraft will depart from Vilnius at 11.35 (local time of Vilnius and Saint Petersburg respectively). A 1.5-hour flight ticket will cost almost as much as a train ticket when travelling in a compartment.

Polet Airlines is one of the first private-capital airlines in the Russian Federation. Established in 1988 in Voronezh as an air freight carrier, Polet Airlines has been rapidly expanding the activities of passenger aviation over the ten recent years.

Currently direct flights to Vilnius are available from 35 European cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bergen, Berlin, Bremen, Brussels, Chania, Doncaster, Dortmund, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Dublin, Eindhoven, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Kiev, Copenhagen, Cork, Istambul, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Riga, Rome, Stavanger, Stockhom, Tallinn, Warsaw, Vienna.
