Jazz virtuosos and fans come back to Birštonas

Every second year on the last weekend in March, jazz virtuosos and fans flock to Birštonas for the traditional jazz festival, which this year will be held on March 30-31 to April 1. The outstanding feature of the Birštonas Jazz Festival is that the Grand Prix is awarded for the greatest contribution to the Lithuanian jazz. This long-lasting jazz music event, which started in 1980, presents an exclusive variety of jazz styles and genres: from Dixieland to modern-day jazz. About 20 bands will give their performances during the three days of the festival. Lithuanian jazz musicians will be the main performers in the festival, which presents a diverse range of jazz players: first-time performers, internationally acclaimed musicians and jazzmen from other countries.
