Reval Hotels made the commitment to save the Baltic Sea

Reval Hotels participated in The Baltic Sea Action Summit (BSAS) in Helsinki on February 10th, 2010 and made the commitment to use phosphate free detergents and to extend it also to their partners providing services to Reval Hotels. With this commitment Reval Hotels wants to participate in saving one of the most polluted sea in the world.

To carry out the actions necessary to save the Baltic Sea, heads of state and government, corporations, business
leaders and NGO’s must all work together. For this purpose, the President of the Republic of Finland, Tarja
Halonen, together with Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen of Finland and the Chairman of the Baltic Sea Action
Group (BSAG), Ilkka Herlin, launched a joint initiative: The Baltic Sea Action Summit 2010 (BSAS).

The Baltic Sea Action Summits essential idea was to provide a platform for arriving at practical commitments to
save the Baltic Sea. The Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG) is a part of the Foundation for a Living Baltic Sea. It is
devoted to rescuing the Baltic Sea with carefully chosen projects and it efficiently combines the resources and
opportunities that the public, private and civil sectors can provide. BSAG was responsible of the content of the
Summit and for gathering the commitments. The region's states and corporations and organizations made
concrete commitments, which can be interlinked with HELCOM:s Baltic Sea Action Plan.

His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf represented Sweden at the Summit and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was the
representative of Russia. Latvian President Valdis Zatlers, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite, Estonian
Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke
Rasmussen also attended the Helsinki Summit. In addition, Germany’s Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and
Consumer Protection Ilse Aigner, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Waldemar
Pawlak and Commissioner-designate for Regional policy Johannes Hahn of the European Commission
participated the Summit.

”We have been working for long time with environmental issues, so committing into BSAG goals was a logical
step to us” says Heikki Vanhanen, CEO of Reval Hotels, who participated in the summit; “everyone in our
organization understands that environmental issues are also concerns for our business.“
