«airBaltic» Pilot Academy Welcomes 15 New Students

Today, already the 26th group of 15 students began their professional pilot studies at the airBaltic Pilot Academy of the Latvian national airline airBaltic. They aim to receive a commercial pilot license upon completing the full-time airline transport pilot program.

Martin Gauss, CEO and President of airBaltic: “We are pleased to welcome the newest students to the airBaltic Pilot Academy, whose dedication reflects the growing demand for skilled aviation professionals. As we continue to expand, our commitment to top-tier training remains strong, now further reinforced by our second Airbus A220 simulator, ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. With each new group, we take another step toward shaping the next generation of pilots who will support airBaltic’s growth and the future of aviation.”

The new group includes students from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, and Sweden.
There are 163 active students at the airBaltic Pilot Academy at the moment. Most of them are from the Baltic countries, however, there are students also from other EU countries such as Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Spain and Italy among others. Overall, more than 10% of airBaltic Pilot Academy students are female. As for now, 131 students, after graduating, have joined airBaltic.

Additionally, to further expand its training capabilities, airBaltic has recently received and installed its second Airbus A220 full flight simulator. This state-of-the-art addition will significantly improve the airline's capacity to train and maintain the qualifications of its growing team of pilots, supporting both the expansion of its fleet and the ongoing development of the Pilot Academy.
