338,800 people passed through Tallinn Airport in October

A total of 338,800 people passed through Tallinn Airport in October, marking a 19% rise on the same period in 2023. Buoyed by a strong summer season, the airport’s 10-month total of 2,981,944 passengers surpassed the total for the entirety of 2023 of 2,960,447 passengers.

In October, 16 airlines operated regular flights from Tallinn, flying on a total of 40 routes. The largest carriers were airBaltic, which offered direct connections to 22 destinations and carried 25% of all passengers, and Ryanair, which offered flight opportunities from Tallinn on 11 direct routes, serving 17% of passengers.

While the most flights on regular routes were to Stockholm, Helsinki and Riga, Antalya became the most popular destination due to the autumn school holidays. More than 38,000 passengers used regular and charter flights to the Turkish resort town. The Egyptian travel season started again on charter flights, as well as charter flights to various destinations in Greece, Portugal, Tunisia, Montenegro and others.

“The October result is a great way of rounding out the summer season,” Eero Pärgmäe, a member of the management board of Tallinn Airport said. “Winter is always a quieter time for aviation in the northern hemisphere, with the focus mainly on business destinations and a smaller number of seasonal routes.”

A total of 8,824 passengers were served at regional airports, including 3,860 in Tartu, 3,649 in Kuressaare, 1,080 in Kärdla and 100 in Pärnu. 135 passengers used Ruhnus airport, no passengers were registered in Kihnus. Most of the flights took place at Tartu Airport, a total of 400 flight operations.
