airBaltic Opens BalticMiles Superstore

The Latvian national airline airBaltic has opened an online superstore offering everything from a bar of soap, to suborbital space flight, to Formula 1 drive for BalticMiles members.

Tero Taskila, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic: “With opening the BalticMiles Shop, we have created an exciting opportunity to spend the new currency – BalticMiles points. You can spend your currency for things you need every day – like a bar of handmade soap or chocolate, but then you can buy a Formula 1 drive with a real F1 pilot, or go on a James Bond tour, or indeed take a sub-orbital flight to nearly reach the space. You can also donate your points for charity.”

The new BalticMiles Shop is available in www.balticmiles.com. BalticMiles members can choose from their favourite everyday products, or shop for experiences and exclusive brands, or even donate miles to selected charities.

BalticMiles is the first loyalty programme to bring together a number of companies in the Baltic and Nordic region. It was launched in October 2009, and at this time, the programme has partners from the banking, telecommunications, hospitality, spa and wellness, fuel retail, entertainment and other industries. BalticMiles is an open loyalty programme – an unlimited number of partners from various sectors can join it.

airBaltic serves 80 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these, airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.
