22nd International Piano Stars Festival in Liepaja

The annual International Piano Stars Festival in the Latvian coastal city of Liepāja has grown to become one of the most important cultural events of the year, and has since become a very prestigious event in the Latvian cultural calendar, gathering many top musicians from Latvia and abroad. The festival’s program has also always been unique in itself.

This year’s festival will take place from April 23 to 27 in Liepāja.

Continuing with traditions, music lovers will be treated with interpretations not only from different pianists, but also from various conductors.

More than 150 pianists from about 30 countries have participated in the festival. There have been participants from Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia. In past festival, the audience had the privilege of seeing such high class artists as Julian Joseph, Mikhail Voskresensky, Freddy Kempf, Noriko Ogava, Robert Mitchell, Christina Ortiz, Dmitrij Bashkirov, Stanislav Igolinsky, Brigitte Engerer, Lazar Berman, Rolando Luna, Chano Dominguez, Eldar Djangirov and many more.

The International Piano Stars Festival is the most prestigious music festival in terms of professionalism and artistic value in the region. The special charm of Liepāja, along with charismatic soloists and the "amber sound" of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, attract thousands of music devotees every year, not only from Latvia but also from abroad.
