Tallinn’s 2011 Culture Capital programme to be decided upon soon

 The cultural programme of Tallinn’s 2011 Cultural Capital project will be definitively decided upon on January 27 when the supervisory board of the foundation Tallinn 2011 will convene, Eesti Päevaleht/LETA writes.

The public will be introduced the new programme in May.

The foundation’s spokesman Andri Maimets said that the foundation will reveal 75% of the programme on May 15, the day of Tallinn. “Our foreign partners, especially the tourism sector, will get a review of the star events in February, in order to add Culture Capital Tallinn as a destination into its materials,” said Maimets.

The foundation’s programme director Jaanus Rohumaa has pointed out among the most important culture projects planned for 2011 the premiere of composer Erkki-Sven Tüür’s new work, updated Tallinn Marathon, Stalker Film Festival, Rock festival Song of Freedom, premiere of opera based on Sofi Oksanen’s book “Cleansing” and exhibitions of works of Ilya Repin and Hieronymus Bosch.
