Swiss premium brand Mövenpick opens its hotel in Tallinn

The first Mövenpick hotel in the Baltic countries has opened its doors, introducing a new level of hospitality to the market.

Accor's premium brand, with Swiss heritage dating back to the late 1940s, makes its debut in the Baltic countries with the first hotel opening in Estonia. The hotel is centrally located in Tallinn and offers a unique concept for the local market. Mövenpick invites guests to indulge their senses, offering exquisite food, Swiss hospitality, modern design, and, of course, something that Switzerland is known for - chocolate, making each moment spent at the hotel worth remembering.

Formerly known as L’Embitu Hotel and situated on Lembitu Street in Tallinn, the hotel was renowned for its stylish design and excellent location. Earlier this year Accor, world leading hospitality group, announced that with the launch of the Mövenpick brand in Estonia this year, the hotel will elevate its service and add unique touches to the guest experience. Mövenpick, a global portfolio of premium hotels that offer opportunities to enjoy life’s delicious pleasures, is expected to further expand in the region.

The hotel is managed by Duco Hotels, who began operating L’Embitu Hotel Tallinn and L’Ermitage Hotel Tallinn from June 1st this year, in addition to ibis Tallinn Center, managed since 2019.

“We are bringing Swiss hospitality to Estonia with this outstanding globally-renowned brand. It is an important step for us as we now adhere to strict guidelines that raise service standards at the hotel and in the Estonian market overall. The hotel has been upgraded under a new brand, with exquisite touches that invite our guests to an exceptional experience,” says Madis Laid, Managing Director of Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn and Duco Hotels.

Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn provides an opportunity to indulge in life's simple pleasures, whether it's a great night's sleep, delicious food, or relaxation. The updated property offers 125 modern and beautifully designed rooms with large comfortable beds. Some rooms have a terrace or a private sauna. Guests have access to spa facilities, including a 12-meter-long pool with hydromassage, a Japanese pool, a pool with cold water, steam sauna, and Finnish sauna.
According to the brand’s devotion to excellence in culinary and F&B experiences, guests visiting the new hotel can enjoy a full-course meal at the ROOF restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine. There is also an opportunity to try signature Mövenpick dishes at the restaurant. In addition, there is a wine and tapas bar in the cellar, offering a selection of wines by a fireplace. The hotel concept also includes a sweet touch - daily chocolate hours in the lobby. Chocolate not only represents the brand’s heritage but also its Swiss origins. Guests are invited to try chocolate desserts and indulge themselves in daily pleasures the Swiss way. Chocolate hour is a creative and immersive chocolate experience that takes place in every Mövenpick hotel lobby every day – that’s more than 37,000 chocolate hours a year.

Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn is also suitable for business travelers, with a unique conference and celebration center on the top floor of the building, providing a panoramic view of Lembitu Park and the city center. It features three halls with a total capacity of up to 220 people.

As with every Mövenpick property, the new hotel implements a wide range of eco-friendly solutions in the areas of ESG and sustainability. The hotel eliminates all guest-related single-use plastic items and is striving for Green Globe certification.

“The opening of Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn is an important milestone for us, as Estonia is one of our leading and key markets in the region. This is the first Mövenpick in the Baltic countries and the first of the brand's hotel projects coming to the region in the near future. We believe that bringing this premium brand to Estonia will elevate the guest experience and the service standards of the hotel industry, attracting new visitors to this magnificent country,” said Katarzyna Sławińska, Development Executive Poland and Baltic Countries at Accor.

Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn is located in the city center of Tallinn, making it suitable for both business clients and leisure travelers. Shopping malls and a vibrant business district are just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The historic Tallinn Old Town is within a 7-minute walk, while Tallinn Port and the Airport are approximately a 10-minute drive away. Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn has easy access to public transportation.

About Mövenpick

In Switzerland, in 1948, Ueli Prager created Mövenpick, a revolutionary dining concept where anyone could enjoy a taste of good wine, good times, and the good life. Today, that same brand of welcoming hospitality lives on in every Mövenpick hotel, where everyone can appreciate life’s essential pleasures, through moments of true indulgence. With more than 100 hotels and resorts around the world and another 50 planned by 2025, Mövenpick remains true to its Swiss heritage and rich culinary legacy, honoring its founder’s promise to do things well by doing things right. In recognition of the brand’s holistic approach to sustainability and its deep commitment to local environments and communities, Green Globe has named Mövenpick the world’s most sustainable hotel company every year since 2017. Mövenpick is part of Accor, a world-leading hospitality group with over 5,300 properties throughout more than 110 countries, and is a participating brand in ALL - Accor Live Limitless – a lifestyle loyalty program providing access to a wide variety of rewards, services, and experiences.
