A Pyramid of Children Drawings in Vilnius

A pyramid, which is made of children drawings, is opened at the Vilnius city (Lithuania) central square. The pyramid is 8 meters high and consists of more than 400 drawings made by children from different European countries. Vilnius has received this unique gift from a German city – Weimar.

The international project “The Pyramid” was created in Weimar when the city was the European Capital of Culture in 1999. Then, children and young people from 23 European countries were participating in the project. By 2009 the young artists have drawn more than 2 000 illustrations-triangles, which reflect the theme of solidarity and justice. Love, homeland and family dominates in each of the drawings as well.

This year the travelling pyramid of children drawings has stopped in the Lithuanian capital – Vilnius. The pyramid at the central city square will be available until October 14, 2009.
