Automated Border Control system at Tallinn Airport

From the beginning of this September, passengers can cross the border using the Automated Border Control system.

The Automated system speeds up the process of crossing the border, reducing the potential for the build-up of queues. Although plane travel has become significantly cheaper in the 21st century, it has also become quite stressful due to the ever growing number of new regulations, procedures and security requirements. The Airport is unable to change these rules; however, the setting-up of automated border crossing systems will help to ensure that following all these rules is as speedy and convenient as possible for passengers. Thanks to the new equipment, crossing the border will take around half a minute.


The machines set up for automated border crossing may be used by any passenger who:

  • is a citizen of a state in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the Schengen Visa Area
  • is at least 15 years of age
  • holds a valid biometric passport (e-passport)


Before you use the automated border crossing system, please follow the instructions displayed on the screens.
