At the Vilnius Airport - the World Lithuanian Unity Day

This Saturday, July 17th, Vilnius Airport will be commemorating Lithuanian World Unity Day. All passengers arriving at Vilnius Airport from 1pm to 4pm will be welcomed with small gifts from the Kirtimu Cultural Center, while those waiting for passengers will be invited to paint visions of Lithuania’s future.

World Lithuanian Unity Day – is a holiday, which aims to unite Lithuanians scattered all over the world. The Lithuanian Diaspora is living in the most remote corners of the world, but they all are connected by the same traditions. According to the Kirtimu Cultural Center, Lithuania needs to foster cultural unity by promoting the participation and consideration of its Diaspora in the life of their homeland.

According to the organisers of the event, the purpose of the Homecoming is to highlight the fact that Lithuanians are always welcome in their home country, because the “Homeland as the family is the bestowal. Bestowal, which cannot be changed and will always be waiting for the return of its countrymen".

The event, in collaboration with Vilnius Airport, is organised by the Vilnius Kirtimu Cultural Center.
