Wizz Air raises 50000 euro for the victims in Haiti

Wizz Air, the largest low fare – low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced a few weeks ago that it would give the opportunity to its passengers to contribute one euro per booking and that it would match each donation with the same amount to help the earthquake victims in Haiti.

Wizz Air collected 25 322 euro and will match the donation by the same amount, making a total contribution of 50 644 euro to the Red Cross.

“We are glad to be able to make this contribution to help the people of Haiti rebuild their country and we would like to thank our generous passengers for their donations” said György Abrán, Chief Commercial Officer of Wizz Air.

Wizz Air carried over 7.8 million passengers in 2009. The airline's fleet is currently consisting of 29 Airbus A320 aircraft operating from 11 bases in Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Czech Republic.
