Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic: “The month-to-month growth in passenger numbers shows our position as the leading airline in the Baltic States. At the beginning of May, we launched 15 new destinations from all our home bases, including seven new countries in Southeast Europe. This expansion offers our customers even wider travel opportunities this summer. Additionally, we recently announced our new Pop-Up flights, featuring routes from Riga to Liepaja and from Tallinn to Palma de Mallorca. We look forward to announcing even more exciting destinations within this concept. These developments are expected to further boost our traffic across the Baltic region and beyond.”
In the first quarter of 2024, the airline carried nearly one million passengers, amounting to 926 000, which is a 20% increase during the same period in the previous year. Earlier this year, airBaltic Group reported an all-time record profit of EUR 34 million for 2023.
In 2024, airBaltic expanded its network by announcing 17 new routes – 8 from Latvia, 4 from Estonia, 4 from Lithuania and 1 from Finland, providing connectivity to and from all its bases more than ever before.
airBaltic operates more than 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere and, seasonally, Gran Canaria, offering connections to a wide range of destinations in the airline's route network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
