airBaltic Presents New Music on Airbus A220-300 Board Composed by Mārcis Auziņš

Latvian airline airBaltic has collaborated with Latvian guitarist, composer, arranger and band leader Mārcis Auziņš to present the new airBaltic brand audio identity that now can be heard on board of Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The aim of this collaboration is to promote airBaltic as the local airline with Latvian author music across more than 80 direct routes that the airline serves from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius.

The new musical composition is specially written for airBaltic and can be heard during videos when passengers board and disembark from the aircraft, offering audiovisual experience of airBaltic brand identity.

Latvian guitarist, composer, arranger and band leader Mārcis Auziņš: "Due to its specific use, this composition is certainly one of the most interesting one I have made during my career. This was also the first time in the process of creating music that I "tested" fragments of it on friends and acquaintances to understand the range of emotions evoked by different people when hearing it. To my joy and happiness, what I imagined in making this music coincided with the emotions of my audience. I cannot say that the work came easy, but I myself enjoy the end result and I am eager to hear it in real life and get feedback from passengers."

Mārcis Auziņš is a well-known and experienced musician who since 2016 has released two solo albums and performed over 100 solo concerts in Latvia and abroad. He has twice been nominated for Record of the Year at the annual Latvian Music Awards, as well as for Best Inter-Genre Music Album and Best Concert Recording and has also been awarded the second prize at the International Sony Jazz Stage competition for guitarists. As a group leader, arranger and guitarist Mārcis Auziņš has regularly collaborated with well-known Latvian composers and artists.

The Airbus A220-300 offers an excellent flying experience with such benefits for passengers as wider seats, larger windows, more hand luggage space in the cabin, improved lavatories and much more. The new aircraft is also considerably quieter – with a four times smaller noise footprint. Moreover, at the moment it is the greenest commercial aircraft in the world, as it is the first aircraft to have a transparent declaration of the life-cycle environmental impact, helping to reduce CO2 and NOX emissions by 20% and 50% respectively.
