Rīga 2014 opening: Fire Sculpture Championship

During the opening weekend the Fire Sculpture Championship was taking place in Rīga. Its culmination was on the evening of January 18, as the sculptures of each of the 12 participating teams were lit one by one by one and judged. The panel of judges deemed the work of the team from Russia, a sculpture entitled „The Abduction of Europe” as the best. The team from Switzerland came second, but the sculpture by a Finnish team - third.
