Tickets for the Tartu 2024 Song and Dance Celebration are now on sale!

Ticket sales for the Tartu 2024 Song and Dance Celebration have just started. The celebration, which runs from 16–22 June, will bring together nearly 15,000 participants under the Song Celebration Arch and at the dance grounds.

The week of celebration will see singers from across Estonia arrive in Tartu, dancers will come together from Tartu, and Tartu County, and expatriate Estonian collectives will also be participating in the party. Together, they will be celebrating Tartu as the 2024 European Capital of Culture and telling the story of preserving our roots, which brings true happiness.

On 16 June, the Song and Dance Celebration will be opened by two Dance Celebration performances of "Juure juures", which will take place in a natural environment at the Tartu Lumepark (Snow Park). ‘Symbolically, we are also close to the Estonian National Museum, but the environment we are creating between the slopes of the Snow Park will be something magical and definitely worth experiencing for both dancers and guests,’ said Kristel Maruste, Artistic Director of the Dance Celebration.

On 18 June, however, all the singers and dancers will gather on Vabaduse Avenue for a big concert and dance party called "Laia ilma peal", which will fill the downtown with spirited orchestral music for one evening, so people can dance till they drop and hand over the party baton to the singers. During the day, there will also be fun mini-concerts featuring international guests, but exactly what will be happening and where remains a mystery at the moment.

The voices of the singers will be heard in procession and under the Song Celebration Arch on 22 June. ‘One of the most anticipated moments of the Song Celebration is definitely when the title song of the Tartu party, "Õnn ja rõõm", written by Rasmus Puur and Doris Kareva, will be performed by the combined choirs, which I have the honour of conducting,’ said Küllike Joosing, Artistic Director of the Song Celebration.

Tickets can be purchased at Piletilevi.
