Tallinn can boast with its clean air

The air in Tallinn is among the cleanest in the world according to the World Health Organisation.

Tallinn has been named one of top ten capital cities in the world with the cleanest air. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has announced that air pollution is a far greater risk in the context of global health than either HIV or Ebola.

The top ten capital cities with the world’s cleanest air:

  1. Stockholm, Sweden

  2. Wellington, New Zealand

  3. Canberra, Australia

  4. Ottawa, Canada

  5. Edinburgh, Scotland

  6. Montevideo, Uruguay

  7. Tallinn, Estonia

  8. Helsinki, Finland

  9. Monaco, Monaco

  10. Madrid, Spain

"Medieval Tallinn - with its imposing city walls and narrow cobbled streets – was not built with motor vehicles in mind," writes The Telegraph, which published the news. "Driving around the ancient city centre is impractical, which has largely kept cars away. Add to that the city’s bountiful green spaces and breezy coastal setting and you have the ingredients for one of the least polluted cities in the world."

Head to these spots to take in the fresh and clean seaside breeeze.
