Vilnius Tourist Information Centre introduces the renewed event website www.vilnius-events.lt/en in 2013. The website is also called „Vilnius Events Mosaic”, as every visitor here can find quite an extensive offer of the events and can learn about the cultural life of the capital. Around 10 thousand events were announced on the website last year, which took place in the city of Vilnius and its environs. It is even hard to imagine how many interesting events are taking place and how many opportunities of spending free time in an interesting way there are in Vilnius.
According to the statistics of Vilnius Tourist Information Centre, locals and the guests, who arrived in the city, are especially interested in cultural events. Therefore, the events website http://www.vilnius-events.lt/en is prepared in three languages – Lithuanian, English and Russian. Though the biggest part of the visitors are Lithuanians, there is a noticeable growth in the visitors from Byelorussia, Russia, Great Britain, Germany, US, Latvia, Norway, Poland. The visitors of the website are interested most of all in big events, festivals, among which we can mention Kaziukas‘ Fair, Culture Night, Capital Days, Christmas Event Programme, which have already become traditional and attract huge crowds. Referring to the categories of the events, the most popular are concerts, free events, performances, exhibitions, open-air events.
This year the renewed website has a couple of novelties installed, which will facilitate to find a particular event in an easy, fast and convenient way, as the search for events can be conducted according to date, category and key word. The visitors will also draw their attention to the most important events – a more attractive depiction has been created by using pictures, maps, making event news and premieres distinguishable.
