Līgatne Nature Trails invites you to an evening hike "Meet the Beasts in the Dark"

On November 26 and December 17, Līgatne Nature Trails welcomes nature lovers to exciting evening hikes titled "Meet the Beasts in the Dark." The hikes will allow you to learn about the peculiar and mysterious evening walks of Latvia's wild animals.

In the evenings, many animals become more active, emerging from their caves and hiding places in search of food. So, in the dark of night, the animal world comes to life, full of shadows and sounds.

Visitors to the evening trek will be able to walk along the illuminated nature trails of Līgatne, participate in various light games, and get to know those forest creatures who are rarely seen in daylight.

"Walking through the Lgatne nature trails at night with a guide is an entirely different experience. The forest appears strange in the dark, and encountering each animal creates a unique experience. We've seen an increase in tourists' interest in twilight animal walks and this event, so this year we're offering the possibility to purchase tickets for two evening hikes - on November 26 and December 17 - "Inta Lange, Head of Līgatne Nature Trails.

The hike will last about two hours. Visitors can choose from five different start times. The first group will begin at 17.00, and following groups will begin every half hour. Each group has a limited number of participants. Please bring a light and dress for the weather.

This event is exclusively open to those who have pre-purchased tickets for the "Meet the Beasts in the Dark" walk. Tickets are available online and at the "Biļešu serviss" box office. There are a certain amount of tickets available. Before visiting the Līgatne Nature Trails, visitors are asked to print or download the tickets to their mobile devices.

The event is organised by the Nature Conservation Agency in cooperation with the municipal agency "Līgatne Culture and Tourism Centre".

The Gauja National Park's Līgatne Nature Trails were built in 1975 in an area rich in forested ravines to introduce tourists to the wildlife species found in Latvia, the diversity of nature, and the importance of nature conservation.
