airBaltic achieves best month in history

Latvian national airline airBaltic achieved the best month in history and carried 377,914 passengers in July 2011 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn), representing 3% increase comparing with the same month in 2010, when airBaltic transported 367,343 passengers. In July this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in Riga has increased by 8% compared to the same period last year.

During the seven months of 2011, airBaltic transported a total of 1,966,626 passengers, or 7% more than during the same period in 2010, when the total number of passengers was 1,839,432.

In July, airBaltic operated 5,590 flights, or 3% less than in July 2010, when airBaltic operated 5,750 flights. Between January and the end of July, the airline provided 33,509 flights in all.

The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, in July 2011 was at a level of 80% - or 4% points more than in July 2010. During the first seven months of 2011 the airline’s load factor was at a level of 73%, or 6% points more than in the same period last year.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 86.2% in July 2011. This means that more than 86 of every 100 airBaltic flights in July departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
