Vilnius city will be the destination for the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) 35 anniversary conference in June 16-19, 2011 which will also be run simultaneously with the AITO Specialist Travel Agents Conference.
Lithuanian National Tourism Office in London, the member of AITO, was the initiator of participation in the contest and presented Vilnius as a destination for AITO conference. The city fought off competition from several other unnamed destinations for the event. Lithuanian State Department of Tourism with significant contribution of Vilnius Convention Bureau made a great effort this positive decision from AITO management to be achieved.
This will be the first time AITO and AITO Agents will combine their overseas conferences into one large event. With 143 AITO members and 130 AITO Agent members, over 250 delegates as well as journalists are expected to attend the conferences.
The conference is timely with the announcement of new flights to Vilnius available with WizzAir from Luton in addition to Air Baltic flights from London Heathrow and Gatwick.
