On 22 June at 12:45 the first aircraft of Air Lituanica company, Embraer 170, landed at Vilnius International Airport.
Symbolically, the first aircraft landed at the airport during the Aviation Festival held in Vilnius. The festival was revived this year after a 18 year break, and was dedicated to the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the flight of S. Darius and S. Girėnas across the Atlantic.
The aircraft arrived to Vilnius from the UK. The aircraft livery represents the company's trademark colours: it is dominated by white, with the company's logo in several places; the tail is red, with the seal of Vytautas on it. This aircraft is ready to conduct the first Air Lituanica flights from Vilnius to Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin.
From June 30, Air Lituanica will have daily flights from Vilnius to Brussels – the departure from Vilnius at 18:30 and departure from Brussels – at 20:35. One-way trip will last 2 hours 20 minutes.
From July 8, the company will also offer daily flights to Amsterdam. The plane will leave from Vilnius in the morning at 6:25 and from Amsterdam to Vilnius – at 10:00. One-way trip duration will be 2 hours 15 minutes.
From August 5 Air Lituanica will start flights from Vilnius to Berlin on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Air Lituanica aircraft will depart from Vilnius at 13:55, from Berlin – at 15:10, and the flight will be 1.5 hours long.
Based on the commercial cooperation agreement with Estonian Air, the companies will have connecting flights, so in total Air Lituanica will offer flights to over 100 cities.
Embraer E-Jet aircraft type is among the world's most popular regional jets. Embraer 170 spacious cabin has 76 passenger seats and a comfortable base for the crew.
In 2015, Air Lituanica plans to have five aircraft and extend to 13-16 regular routes.
It will have flights to all directions on a daily basis, or several times a week.
