Riga Airport Earns Recognition

Riga International Airport has received the award “Cake of the Week” from the popular aviation industry website http://www.anna.aero/.

The recognition was received for a special cake with the image of Morčić -the symbol of wealth and welfare in Rijeka. The cakewas made to celebrate the first airBaltic flight from Riga to Rijeka. Photographs from the opening of the route are available here: http://is.gd/jWOqGo

It should be reminded that on 6 June the Latvian national airline airBaltic commenced flights from Riga International Airport to the Croatian city of Rijeka located on the shore of the Adriatic Sea. AirBaltic is flying from Riga to Rijeka twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays. AirBaltic performs flights on a Boeing 737-300 aircraft and the flight lasts for 2 hours and 25 minutes.

This year in the summer season six new routes have been opened from Riga Airport: Larnaca (airBaltic), Balaton (airBaltic), Olbia (airBaltic), Malta (airBaltic), Rijeka (airBaltic), Bergen (Wizzair).
