The Open Air Museum invites you to a walk in the Garden of Winter Light

This year, Latvian light artists will illuminate the Open-Air Museum with unprecedented visual sensations and bring to life our core Latvian values - songs, tales, fairy tales, and beliefs - through light games, making this solstice season special and unforgettable. The Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Territory will be transformed into an unprecedented light adventure, allowing visitors to experience this cultural adventure in a completely new and unique way.

"Winter is a particularly chaotic time because Europe is at war. We believe it is especially important to remember and draw attention to our values, national identity, and all things Latvian, which is why we have decided to organize this year's The Garden of Winter Light in collaboration with the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum "says Mārcis Gulbis, the event's creator and organizer.

The nearly 2-kilometer walking trail will invite you to involve yourself in Latvian solstice traditions and enter the world of winter wonders - the walking trail will be open to everyone.

From 16 December 2022 to 31 December 2022, "the Garden of Winter Light" will be open to the public every evening (except 24 and 31 December) from 17.00 to 22.00. (last entrance at 21.00).

"The Garden of Winter Light will return for the fourth time in the 2022/2023 winter season, having previously won awards for the Most Outstanding Event of 2020 in Riga and the Most Outstanding Walking Trail of Lights of 2021. So far, over 30 000 people have visited The Garden of Winter Light.
