airBaltic – best for innovation

Latvian airline airBaltic can be prod of themselves because TV channel CNN has named airBaltic as the best airline for Innovation among global carriers "for its create-your-own-meal-tray food ordering system".

airBaltic was the world’s first airline to introduce a novel food pre-ordering system that allows travellers to customize their in-flight meal after they have booked their seat. Customers select their preferred items onto their virtual airline tray and create their own inflight meal. Now travellers are fully in control when customising their meals based on their preference, dietary, medical, religious considerations.

Passengers can choose from a variety of more than 70 pre order meal options onto their virtual tray, including vegetable risotto, fish souvlaki, teriyaki salmon, grilled pork or chicken breast, served with one of nine salads and one of nine types of dessert, and a drink of choice. airBaltic customers can now order their inflight meal immediately upon completing their flight booking, or any other time no later than 48 hours before departure.

airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these locations, airBaltic offers convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, CIS and the Middle East.
