Ryanair celebrates 10 million Baltic passengers

Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, 27th June celebrated its 10 millionth passenger to/from the three Baltic States at Ryanair’s Baltic base airport in Kaunas. The lucky 10 millionth passengers were 4 year old Lithuanian twin boys Armandas and Raimandas Pupsys who were travelling from Kaunas to Leeds Bradford in the UK. Armandas and Raimandas and their parents were presented with complimentary Ryanair flight vouchers that they can use for their next family holiday. In addition a celebration cake was offered to all departing passengers on the Leeds Bradford flight.

Since Ryanair arrived in the Baltic States (starting its operations at Riga International Airport in October 2004) it has grown to over 50 routes, carrying more than 5.8m passengers to/from Latvia, over 3.6m passengers to/from Lithuania and over 500,000 passengers to/from Estonia, while sustaining over 10,000 jobs at Baltic airports and Baltic Tourism.

Ryanair’s Baltic Sales & Marketing Executive Elina Hakkarainen said today at Kaunas Airport:

In less than 8 years, Ryanair has carried 10 million passengers to/from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, with visitors saving millions of euro p.a. by switching to Ryanair’s low fares over Air Baltic’s and Estonian Air’s high fare flights. Ryanair will carry over 2.5m passengers through the three Baltic States in 2012, while sustaining 2,500 jobs and underlining Ryanair’s commitment to and investment in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Ryanair beats every other airline with our guaranteed lowest fares, no fuel surcharges and the most on time flights and to celebrate our 10 million passengers and nearly 8 years of tourism and job growth in the Baltic region we are releasing 1 million 9LVL / 45LTL / €12.99 seats for travel in September on over 1,000 Ryanair routes throughout Europe, which are available for booking until midnight Thursday (28th June).”
