airBaltic awarded second best for punctuality in Europe

Latvian national airline airBaltic has been awarded second best in Europe among regional airlines for arrival punctuality by FlightStats analysts, who track the performance of nearly 150,000 flights operated and serviced by thousands of airlines and airports globally each day.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “airBaltic offers convenient connections to and from 60 destinations in Europe, Middle East, Russia and CIS. It is important to continue improving our punctuality to better serve both our transfer passengers via North Hub Riga, and customers travelling point-to-point. We are delighted to achieve this industry-leading result, and strengthen Riga as a transit hub.”

According to FlightStats, airBaltic achieved arrival punctuality improvement to 90.53% for flights linking North Hub Riga with destinations in Europe, Middle East and Russia/CIS. It means that more than 9 airBaltic aircraft out of 10 arrive on-time.

airBaltic was the first airline in Europe to introduce on-time arrival guarantee in early 2009. This insurance allows airBaltic passengers to make the rare delays less inconvenient.

The FlightStats Awards recognizes airlines around the world that achieve sustained operational excellence. Airlines are recognized for delivering the highest percentage of flights to their arrivals gates within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time.

airBaltic serves 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these, airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.
