On the 7th to 11th March Jūrmala City Council will participate in the international tourist fair "TUR 2012" in Gothenburg, Sweeden. Jūrmala will be presented within the stand of Latvia.
During the exhibition, Jūrmala will offer information on accommodation places, tourist attractions, SPA and treatment. Will be possible to get information about active recreation in Jūrmala, including city bicycle routes and water sports opportunities, information about city events throughout the year, and for the visitors new Jūrmala’s tourism brochure "Jūrmala 2012" in Swedish and English will be available.
According to trade show organizer data, last year total attendance was 44500, from witch 21000 was tourism professionals and 23500 – other visitors. First two days are meant for tourism professionals, but other for wider Swedish public.
Jūrmalas information centre statistic data shows that last year tourists from Sweden reached 3% (3141) from all tourists.
Jūrmala City Council participates in tourism exhibition in accordance with the Jūrmala City Council’s and the Tourism Development State Agency’s agreement No.2011-24 (JPD Reg.No.1.1-16/878) signed on November 4, 2011 on the receipt of the support, and the agreement between Jūrmala City Council and Latvian Investment and Development Agency of Latvia No L-ĀTA-12-0824 for the project No. ĀTA/2.3.1.1.1/11/32/011 "Participation of Jūrmala and Latvia’s Resort association in foreign international tourism exhibitions and fairs". 50% of travel related expenses will be covered by the European Regional Development Fund. The project is being implemented in the subprogram “Acquirement of foreign markets - foreign marketing”
